A Weathered Penny: The Farah Set

Wearing the Farah Earrings and Necklace set.

I am going to skip prefacing today’s post simply because I cannot contain my excitement over the contents of a little parcel that arrived for me in the post yesterday, although I will say hello, hope you are well, and Happy Saturday to you all! :) Unless this is a preface in of itself . . .

I haven’t broached the subject of jewelry yet on this blog, so here presents the perfect opportunity! I don’t own a lot of jewelry, it turns out. I’ve been wearing the same stud and hoop earrings for at least two years now and only typically have three-to-four gold rings on rotation. I love jewelry, particularly rings and earrings (I’m trying to become more of a necklace and bracelet wearer), but as with most things, I’m hyper-selective, and I sometimes struggle to find the right balance when it comes to mixing bling together. I usually prefer understated accessories that I can wear on a daily basis, but the persistent monotony of the pandemic has my heart and eyes clamoring for anything a bit out of the ordinary: exciting and interesting statement pieces, like these Farah earrings and matching necklace, which were kindly gifted to me by A Weathered Penny, who are a woman-owned small business (double Hell yeah!) based in London, England.

From the minute I laid eyes on them, I was utterly spellbound by the fluidity of their form. The contrast between their raw, organic design and perfectly polished sterling silver plating is absolutely stunning. Against the background of an all-black outfit, the shine and sleek profile of the metal is accentuated spectacularly, but the trifecta will offer to elevate any look with the aesthetic harmony and elegance it confers. For a minimalist, it doesn’t get any more sophisticated than this.

If you’re as in awe of them as I am and fancy having a browse through the multitude of other innovative styles on their site to find a design that speaks to you, I’ll link their website here: https://www.aweatheredpenny.com/ (not a paid collaboration). Every order plants a tree! :)
