Bedroom Reflections

01.01.22

Once again, I had the opportunity to be in bed by 10 p.m. but instead mightily indulged in a romanticized and routinely extended night time routine of my own overly-ambitious creation. What am I to do if a zealous mood strikes me right then and there, possessing me to condition my eyebrows with gimmicky serum (rotten trichotillomania), file my nails almond, properly blow-dry my bangs, marinate my heels in snail secretion socks* (don’t knock it ‘til you try it), and shave e v e r y t h i n g .

That’s not even mentioning the 3 minutes and 20 seconds I independently spent passionately vibing to one particularly vibe-y, Spotify-conjured SAINt JHN song, or the chamomile tea I made and accidentally left, cold and totally unsipped, on the counter in the kitchen (it’s more just an act of ritual preparation at this point anyways).

Because I can’t keep a caption short to save my life, I’ll try to cut to the chase: in these thralls of procrastination, I managed to capture the image above, which features the glossy reflection of a corner of my bedroom in a photo I took of one of my favorite buildings in Portland. On my wall like this, bordered on all sides by glorious CB2 frame, I find it brings me great joy and sense of safety and peace.
